Reaching out to widows divine injunction – Minister

The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, has harped on reaching out to widows and the vulnerable groups, saying it is backed by the Holy Quran and the Bible.

She said this Tuesday in Abuja while at the annual Corporate Social Responsibility organised by ITM Services Ltd.

The minister, represented by the Principal Communications Development Officer at the ministry, Ejuamah Samual Enoch, said, “Religiously, reaching out to widows and the vulnerable groups is a divine injunction because it is stated in the Bible and Holy Quran.

“In this regard, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Women’s Affairs have carried out a series of interventions for the wellbeing of the widows and the vulnerable groups.”

Country Manager, ITM Services Ltd, Bukola Oyinlola-Anuwe, said every year, the company had a mandate to always give back to the community where it operates.

Oyinlola-Anuwe said not less than 95 widows from the 100 invited turned up for this year’s CSR.
