Solana Olumhense’s column in Sunday Trust of June 11, 2017 resonates with chronic prejudices and acrobatic mischief. He succeeded, based on usual habits and tradition, in presenting his supposed beautiful position paper on Nigeria’s hydra -headed and endemic political situation.

Expectedly his poisonous and dangerous arrows were targeted to deliver their intellectual venoms, at the most popular and prime suspects; the Northerners and their leaders.

It is ironic, that despite several years of disadvantages suffered by the poorest of this partner in this unwholesome colonial mismatched saga; the North and innocent Northerners, have always been the butts of some southern hardliners and impudent ingrates, who feed fat on Northern generosity and universal humanitarianism to develop their lives beyond the scope, imperfections and bestialities of their so called home environments.

You cannot deceive us again, with this false and spuriously one-sided intellectual dexterity and philosophical acrobatic displays, on the pages of newspapers, journals and magazines, which feeds on the ego of uprooted and rootless youngsters from across the east of the River Niger, who are bubbling with fictional fantasies about Nigerian history.

For Olumhense’s information and the sake of authentic validity of facts and reality, the North and Northerners have handsomely paid their dues to the cause of one Nigeria. But if you are still in doubt, check on some historians to tell you about Sa’adu Zungur, Aminu Kano and other pristine Northern radicals who should be reconignised for their positive and pioneering spirits in nationalism, for dumping their own Northern candidates, in favour of Dr. Nwamdi Azikiwe, as a preferred candidate in the parliamentary elections of the 50’s.

What of the NEPU legacy of propagandists, blackmailers and political merchants. After all, your motives are partisan and drip with prejudices and emotional bias. Why are all these agitations made centre page issues, by Southern politicians, as well as their foot soldiers in the academia and the media, who are the perpetual instigators and agenda setters?

Besides, I am yet to come across any valid records, confirming Olumhense’s disapproval of the abusive invectives, from vendetta-seeking pro-Biafran renegades.

Haba, Solana Olumhense, it is something of an irony that of all people, you are responsible for this gross display of blatant ignorance and blind partisanship!
