Re: Northern elders, Middle Belt Forum disagree over power shift

One needs to really ask the question: What’s Middle Belt?

The geographical expression of the middle belt if I can remember, stretches from Kwara state through what was Benue Plateau and ends into some parts of Biu Emirate to the Mandara Mountain and part of Adamawa and Taraba states.

How can someone from the far North speak on behalf of a region he doesn’t belong?  Or is the term used to define Northern minorities/ Christians?

Otherwise, the statement as we have been reading just a decision of a group that doesn’t exist.

Nowhere in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is it written that we have rotational Presidency. The fact that leadership has been switching from one zone to another is a pure political process within the various political parties that won elections.

Any group or party that has a better candidate will simply win the election.

Politics is a game of give and take. Any party that wants to win must cut across the bridge. No single geopolitical divide can win without the support of the others. Politics is a game of numbers not intimidation.
