The Mupun Nation in Pankshin local government area of Plateau State, has declared their support for the  re-election bid of Governor Simon Lalong, who is also the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election.

This position was made known by stakeholders and supporters of the APC who trooped out in large numbers in the area to welcome their daughter and Commissioner for Finance, Regina Soemlat, during a political campaign.

Speaking, chairman of APC in Mupun Ward, Ayuba Saan, said since the coming of Governor Simon Lalong the district has witnessed a lot of developments.

He said the APC led administration in the state has carried the Mupun nation along in its good governance, adding that the Commissioner through her resilience has attracted government’s presence in the land.

“We hereby, because of the numerous achievements of the APC, declare our total support for the re-election bid of governor Simon Lalong for second term. Besides, based on the zoning arrangement in Plateau State, the southern zone needs to complete its term and then it would be the turn of the central zone to produce the next governor come 2023. Therefore, we cannot afford to throw this chance away,” he said.

In her remarks, Soemlat applauded her kinsmen for their warm support for her since her appointment as commissioner as well as their unflinching support for Governor Lalong’s administration.

She said the governor had done so much for Mupun people that she would not need to exert so much energy in campaigning in the area.

The Mupun nation, she stressed, has benefitted a lot from the administration in terms of appointments, roads construction, prompt payment of salaries among other benefits.
