Rapper King Joel Gives Back To Society

Nigerian-American rapper, King Joel, has kicked off 2022 by giving back to society. The rapper sponsored the Lagos state inter-secondary school debate which took place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. He also awarded the winners their prizes.

In a chat with Daily Trust, King disclosed that he decided to sponsor the debate competition because he once lived in Lagos before relocating to the US and he understands the value of education in Nigeria.

As he made his presentation, King further noted that the success of the country depends largely on the future leaders of tomorrow.

At the end of the debate competition, out of the six schools that participated, Agnue Dei of Little Francis School emerged the winner; Great Trinity College, Alakote High School and Body of Christ emerged as first and second runner up respectively.

The sum of N400,000 was awarded to the excellent performer of the debate, Aninneji Esther Nmasichukwu; the runner up school was also awarded a cash prize of N300,000.

Other competitors were given N50,000 each, but the artiste picked seven random kids from the crowd and gave a cash gift of N50,000 each.

The widows, physically challenged were not left out as they were also gifted with cash and other items. The project coordinator, Chiori Daniel Cole said, “It will amaze you that we were able to put smiles on the faces of over 400 vulnerable people that cut across widows and physically challenged by gifting them with food items and cash amounts. We hope to continue on these strides in years to come.”
