The Yobe State Government has clarified that only N178 million was budgeted to feed 16,800 vulnerable persons across the state during the Ramadan period.
The State Commissioner, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Re-orientation Alhaji Yusif Umar, disclosed this to newsmen in Damaturu, yesterday.
He said the amount was budgeted to feed 16,800 people daily in 84 feeding centres spread across the state.
The commissioner said the clarification became necessary due to media reports that N100 million will be spent daily to feed 16,900 people, a development that has generated controversy in the state.
