A Kano based nongovernmental organization, NUSA’ID Humanitarian Initiative, on Sunday donated food items to over 550 less privileged families in the state.
The group, in partnership with Kano Ulama Forum, donated the items comprising of rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, sugar and money to help them support their families especially in the month of Ramadan.

Speaking during the flagging off of the distribution, NUSA’ID Coordinator, Dr Sa’idu Ahmad Dukawa said the beneficiaries of the gesture were selected from different parts of the state.
Dr Dukawa called on other wealthy individuals to join hands in helping the less privileged in the society, not only in the holy month of Ramadan.
Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Dantata Mosque in Kofar Ruwa, Kano and a member in the foundation’s Committee of Imams, Sheikh Nura Arzai underscored the importance of helping the less privileged in the society.
