A Kano-based NGO, Zaytun Humanitarian Foundation, has kicked off distribution of food items and clothes to orphans, vulnerable and less privileged members people.
The beneficiaries were drawn from Unguwar Gini, Indabawa, Kurmawa, Kano Municipal, hospitals, prisons and others in a bid to reduce their suffering.

The project coordinator of Zaytun, Muhammad Sani Abubakar, said the gesture was part of their annual exercise aimed at reducing the hardship of the vulnerable and the less privileged, especially orphans, who were the neediest.
Abubakar said, “So far, 150 beneficiaries have received the items, and we are targeting 550 individuals and families in the next two days.”
He, therefore, called on the wealthy to key into the initiative by registering their donations through the foundation.
