The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has urged marketers across the state to desist from hiking the price of food commodities in the state ahead of the forthcoming month of Ramadan.

The emir made the call yesterday in Kano during a special prayer session held in commemoration of his second-year anniversary as emir of Kano.

The emir, who gave glory to Almighty Allah for the guidance and opportunity to serve his people, urged them to endeavour to benefit from the blessings of the month by not hiking food prices.

He equally appreciated the support given to him in the last two years by the state government; members of the Emirate Council and the people of the state.

The special prayer session which was held at the Kano Central Mosque, was led by the Chief Imam of Kano, Professor Muhammad Sani Zahraddeen and Waziri of Kano, Alhaji Sa’ad Shehu Gidado, respectively.
