Ramadan: ECWA distributes food items to Muslims in Kaduna

The Evangelical Church Winning All, (ECWA),yesterday donated food items to Muslims residing within the community where the church is situated at Tudun Nupawa in Kaduna. The items include rice, beans, noodles, maize and millet among others.
According to the Senior Pastor of the church, Reverend Yunusa Nmadu (Jnr), the donation is an annual event aimed at fostering peaceful co-existence among the people as well as a way of assisting the needy in the spirit of Ramadan.
“This community used to be crisis-prone, but there has been tremendous improvement over the years due to concerted efforts, counseling and proper leadership provided by the leaders and village heads in the area,” he said.
The pastor said “the attitude of youths of the area during the June 17, 2012 violence in Kaduna was amazing and commendable. For the first time in the history of crises in Kaduna, this church was not touched.”
He therefore urged other communities to emulate such peaceful act; reiterating that peace is possible in Kaduna State.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Sarkin Dutse, Alhaji Shaibu Balarabe commended the consistency of the church in assisting Muslims.
