No fewer than 3104 vulnerable persons in four local governments areas of Katsina State have benefitted from the N23 million cash donation given by the Commissioner of Environment, Alhaji Hamza Sule Faskari.
The support was given to the beneficiaries to ease their financial hardship during the Ramadan period.
Speaking when the funds were distributed at the weekend, the commissioner disclosed that the beneficiaries were carefully selected from Faskari, Sabuwa, Kankara, Dandume and some parts of Funtua local governments.
“We are here to compliment the efforts of our leader, Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, in alleviating people’s suffering especially during the Holy month of Ramadan,” he said.
“Governor Masari has been showing concerns over the insecurity in our area. His government has been doing its best to make sure normalcy is returned in the area,” he added.
Faskari then called on residents to use the special month of Ramadan to pray for leaders, security agencies and for peace to return to the area.
He also thanked the wife of the state governor, Hajiya Hadiza Aminu Bello Masari, who personally attended the occasion.
In his remark, the vice-chairman APC, Funtua zone, Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa, commended the commissioner for the kind gesture.
“Hamza is not the only one appointed from our zone, but he has proved to be best among equals. This is the fifth time he was providing support for his constituents,” he noted.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the state governor on social interventions, Alhaji Abdulqadir Mammam Nasir, lauded the commissioner for intervening in supporting the vulnerable poor in the state.
