Rainfall in Cross River State has thrown some parts of the state capital and environs into darkness in the last three days.
The storm has also destroyed houses, pulled down trees and left so many streets in the metropolis with wreckage.
The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution company Plc (PHED) has confirmed the development in a statement, adding that the power outage in Calabar was a result of continual heavy windstorm in the last three days which has affected some power infrastructures.
On Saturday night and Sunday morning, heavy wind accompanied by thunderstorms wreaked havoc in the city, destroying properties worth millions of naira.

The PHED however noted that the situation is being given urgent attention towards restoring power as soon as possible.
The company said the technical department was working to ensure that supply is restored as soon as possible.
Daily Trust findings showed that the torrential storm affected properties at the Nigeria Police Zone 6 ‘Good Shepherd’ roundabout, with the ‘Good Shepherd’ and some of his sheep, blown away as a result of strong winds.
Streets like Etta Agbor, Essien Town, Murtala Muhammed Highway, Ikot Effa, Spring Road, and others experienced blockade as a result of fallen trees.
Along Mount Zion Road, heavy flood had swept cars into gutters while others left by the roadside are all covered with debris from the flood.
Commissioner for Environment, Moses Osogi, said the storm was a natural phenomenon but efforts are on to evacuate the debris.
He cautioned residents against blocking flood routes, including gutters, and advised those in flood-prone areas to relocate.
