Rainfall destroys bridge, houses in Gombe

A heavy rainfall in Akko Local Government Areas of Gombe State destroyed a bridge, culverts and houses, Daily Trust gathered.
Residents of Buba Shongo area of Gombe metropolis said the destruction of the culvert caused gridlock in the area yesterday.
They urged authorities concerned to repair the culvert and bridge to save lives of residents.  Our correspondent, who visited the area, saw members of a voluntary organisation controlling traffic.
Caretaker committee chairman of the council, Alhaji Adamu Yakubu, sympathized with the victims just as he inaugurated an 11-man committee to ascertain the level of damage. He gave the committee 24 hours to submit its report.
