Radda, Mutfwang, Oborevwori sign 2024 budgets into law

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has signed the 2024 appropriation bill into law following its passage by the State House of Assembly.

The 2024 budget estimate, totalling 454,308,862,113.96, was signed into law at the Government House chamber on Wednesday.

In his remarks, Governor Radda thanked the State Assembly for the speedy passage and acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the state deputy governor, executive council members, and all contributors to the budget-making process.

The governor assured on strict adherence to budget implementation procedures, emphasising resource allocation based on needs and priorities.

He also appealed for continued cooperation from the legislature, stressing the importance of working closely with government agencies.

In Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has signed the state’s 2024 budget of N314.8 billion into law, his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere told journalists.

The budget, christened ‘Budget of New Beginnings’, has a recurrent expenditure component of N162.3 billion and capital expenditure of N152.5 billion.

Bere expressed optimism that the budget’s implementation would improve the living conditions of the people and urged citizens to support the government for sustained progress.

Similarly in Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Wednesday assented to the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N724,979,313,867 passed by the State House of Assembly.

The budget is made up of N316,624,462,711 for recurrent expenditure and N408,354,851,156 for capital expenditure.

 Oborevwori said the budget, tagged ‘Budget of Hope and Optimism’, is geared towards putting the economy of the state on the path of sustainable growth.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State House Assembly on Wednesday also passed the 2024 appropriation Bill of N258.2bn into law.

The passage of the bill followed the adoption of the report of the House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Budget Monitoring, and Economic Planning.

The budget comprises recurrent expenditure of over N145.7 billion, while the authorized capital expenditure stood at over N112.5 billion.
