Quit notice: We won’t go anywhere South-east, South-south northern leaders insist

As 1st October draws nearer, the South-east and South-south Northern Traditional Rulers Council has appealed to Igbo in the North to ignore the hate speech and quit notice issued by Arewa youths recently.

Rising from their meeting in Umuahia yesterday, the Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Yaro Danladi who is also the Sarki Hausawa of Abia State, condemned the recent development and the hate speeches coming from both sides.

He said majority of them were born and brought up in the South-east and South-south while some not born there had lived there for decades.

“We are not in support of what is happening. Most of the Sarkis in the South-east and South-south were born here, their parents lived here and their wives are from here, and also in the North some Igbos were born there, married in the North  and lived there with their  parents, so where are they going if the country disintegrates,” he asked.
