Lamido, who spoke at PDP zonal rally in Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State, also accused former members of the group of seven PDP governors (G7) who later started the new PDP that merged with the APC as betrayers.
Daily Trust reports that the G7- governors – Babangida Aliyu of Niger, Abdulfatah Ahmed of  Kwara, Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto, Sule Lamido of Jigawa, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers and former Adamawa State Murtala Nyako – formed the new PDP in protest. Amaechi, Kwankwaso, Wamakko, Ahmed and Nyako eventually defected to the APC while Lamido and Aliyu remained in PDP.
He said: “Every Tom, Dick and Harry now hides under Buhari. Politicians with questionable background and criminal past are now hiding under Buhari. These are the same people we fought Buhari together with in 2003, 2007 and 2011. All of a sudden they are now Buhari loyalists. If Buhari is as good as they are saying, why is he condoning these characters?”
The governor said it was a shame that people who benefited immensely from the PDP have today turned into its worst enemies.
Lamido said: “The new slogan in town now is change; and anybody that mouths that platitude automatically becomes a progressive. People like Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, Aliyu Wamakko, Nasir el-Rufa’i, Bello Masari, Sabo Nakudu were all made by the PDP.
“They became what they are today by virtue of PDP, but today they have betrayed the party and they are calling the PDP all sorts of names.”
Lamido told the gathering that these politicians have betrayed the trust of the people and as such they should be disgraced in 2015.
He said in the last eight years, he has fulfilled his electoral promises to the state, adding that he has a worthy successor in the person of Malam Aminu Ringim whom, he describe as a tested and trusted person.
