A software firm, Quest Software Incorporate has called for stronger cyber security systems across businesses and organisations in Nigeria.

The company’s official made this call at stakeholders’ workshop it organised in Lagos at the weekend, which had in attendances representatives from the banks, oil firms, tech companies as well as government establishments.

The company also tasked individuals and organisations on the need for safeguarding their data, password managing and protecting their environment. Harping on this, the Pre-sales Managing Director of Quest, Mr Rudy Downford, said Nigerians should improve on protecting and tracking their system data and activities as it will help them to know when there is a compromise in the system data.

While guiding participants on the processes at the workshop, Mr Downford said key among the basics is for data system owners to identify, protect, detect, respond and make recovery. “With these steps, organisations and individuals can get any intruder trying to access their data and also the unified identity platform solutions we provide can help customers strengthen their overall cyber security posture and protect people’s applications and data essential to their businesses,” he explained.

He noted that the company offers software services for clients to streamline and scale their IT operations with end-to-end solutions for migrating, managing and securing any Microsoft platform, including Active Directory and Office 365 workloads such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business and Exchange.
