Queen Amina College wins KABAFEST poetry contest

Queen Amina College, an all-girls secondary school in Kaduna, won the schools declamation poetry contest organised during the Kaduna Book and Arts Festival (KABAFEST).

The event at Arewa House was moderated by Lola Shoneyin, Director, Book Buzz Foundation.

The winners included Maryam Bitrus, Favour Adams, Aisha Ibrahim, Kasherm Kazah and Rachael Adebayo.

The students, represented by Bitrus thanked God for the opportunity, their teacher Miss Ruth Matthew and the Kaduna State Government.

In second place were students from Government Girls Secondary School (GSS) Doka and third place, students from GGSS Kabala Costein.

All the winners were awarded prizes of computer tablets.

The judges selected winners based on style of delivery and projection.
