The head of the Yoruba speaking region of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Mustapha Berende, has called on the Federal Government to release the international passport of Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, to enable them attend to their failing health abroad.
He made the call at a press conference in Ilorin yesterday to mark the International Quds Day.

Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan to express support for the Palestinians.
According to him, the federal government should show decorum and respect the rule of law by releasing the international passports of the couple forthwith.
He said the action would avail them of the required medical treatments unavailable in Nigeria abroad in order to halt and reverse their worsening health conditions.
Berende, who is also the founder of Madinatul ilm Academy, Ilorin, said although El-Zakzaky was treated unjustly, he was never bittered because he believes in the oneness of Nigeria and justice for all.
