QPR rejects Club Brugge bid for Nigerian wonderkid, Osayi-Samuel

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) have rejected a £3m bid for Bright Osayi-Samuel from Belgian side Club Brugge, according to Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old Nigerian-born forward has been one of the Championship club’s standout performers this season.

He has one year left on his current deal and has recently been linked with moves to West Ham and Norwich.

Brugge were hopeful they could entice Osayi-Samuel with the incentive of Champions League football next season.

It is not yet known whether Brugge will return with an improved offer.

The Nigerian wonderkid made his professional debut for Blackpool on 7 March 2015 in a 0–1 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Osayi-Samuel then moved to QPR in September 2017.

He has since scored 10 goals in 84 appearances for QPR and has enjoyed his most productive season to date during the 2019/20 campaign, netting six times in 32 games.

The forward, born in Nigeria, is more comfortable on the right wing but can also play in the left.

Osayi-Samuel, who has eight assists in the Championship so far this season, is also eligible to play for England.

Osayi-Samuel moved with his family to Spain before emigrating to England when he was ten years old, settling in Woolwich, London.
