A greedy python had eyes bigger than his belly when he swallowed a fully grown antelope – but his prey was so big it killed him.The 20ft-long python was seen rolling around with an abnormally large belly in Baliavad village, near Gir wildlife sanctuary in the Indian state of Gujarat on Monday. The python had swallowed the antelope after strangling it to death. It attempted to regurgitate its meal, but failed. The scene has sparked alarm among snake experts. The huge snake could barely move because of the size of the prey in his stomach, and died moments after eating it. A crowd of onlookers gathered as the python writhed in a desperate attempt to survive. They are known to prey on animals much larger in size. After eating, a python can go several weeks, if not months, without needing to feed again.
