Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has said that it is compulsory for civil servants to show their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) before receiving salaries.
For those on self-employment, the governor said that presentation of PVC is a prerequisite for the conduct of any government business, other socio-economic activities and even admission into schools.
The governor, speaking in Owerri, expressed dissatisfaction at the nonchalant attitude exhibited by citizens of the state with regard to having their PVCs.
He said it had become necessary for government to adopt certain measures to make citizens exercise their civic responsibility.
