The publisher and editor-in-chief of Daylight Reporters, Dahiru Hassan Kera, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, over alleged harassment by operatives in Gombe State Police Command.
Kera said, in the petition, that his life had been in danger since his platform published a report on financial status of the Gombe State Government.

‘’I am compelled, Sir, to address this petition to you, by the frightening and traumatizing situation I have been plunged into by the intense, completely unprovoked and unjustified breach of the inalienable freedom graciously granted me by the the Almighty God through the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
‘’For the past one month, I have not enjoyed any freedom of movement and association as a bonafide citizen of Nigeria due to the arrest warrant.
‘’I have not seen my family; neither have I been able to visit Gombe to condole the family of my deceased elder brother, who died while I have been on the run, for fear of being arrested by detectives dispatched to all locations I have been known to frequent, searching for any traces of me,’’ the petition partly read.
