The National President of the Parent Teachers Association of Nigeria (PTAN), Alhaji Haruna Danjuma, has called on the federal and state governments to provide enough security guards at all schools to avert attacks by bandits as schools reopen today.
In a statement issued in Kaduna on Sunday, Danjuma said it would boost the parent’s confidence to send their children back to school.

“We are begging all the 36 states and federal government of Nigeria to help us and protect our children through the provisions of adequate security forces at the school premises,” he said.
He urged the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to go back to the dialogue table to end the lingering six months strike.
He also reminded the Kebbi State and federal governments to double efforts towards rescuing the remaining 11 kidnapped female students of Federal Government College, Birnin-Yauri.
He lamented that the Yawuri girls were still in captivity after 445 days now and no one was talking about them.
Similarly, a coalition of northern women has commended the Nigerian Army, FG, and vigilante over the successful dislodgement of bandits and terrorist hideouts in Kaduna forestry.
The National President for the protection of women and children in Nigeria, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani, said the military operations within the Kaduna forest had crippled the activities of bandits.
