Twelve police officers have been decorated with their new ranks in Kano following the approval of their promotion by the Police Service Commission on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police.

The officers were part of the 414 Police officers promoted nationwide by the Commission.

In his remark shortly after the decoration on Wednesday, Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Yusuf, said, the twelve officers that benefited from the promotion from Kano Command include one Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), one Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), two Superintendents of Police (SP), four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) and four Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP).

Yusuf congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to live up to their responsibilities.

"However, elevation naturally comes with added responsibility. It is now for you not to disappoint the IGP and to make sure that you are more committed, more dedicated to your duty than before. You should also try to prove to the members of the public that your promotion is a well-deserved elevation," he said.

Among the officers, whose selfless service was appreciated, was the Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command, Magaji Musa Majiya, who was promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police from Deputy Superintendent of Police.
