Former IGP Musiliu Smith loses wife

Former Inspector General of Police and Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC), Alhaji Musiliu A.K Smith has lost his wife, Alhaja Ariat Aderoju Smith.

The Lagos State Government disclosed this in a statement in the early hours of Saturday, saying late Alhaja Smith died on Friday 5th June, 2020 at the age of 69.

The remains of late Alhaja Ariat Smith will be buried on Saturday 6th June, 2020 in accordance to Islamic rites, the statement said.

The government said only immediate family members will be allowed at the burial rites, in strict compliance with the NCDC/Lagos State Government’s guidelines on COVID-19 social distancing protocol.

The deceased is survived by her husband, Alhaji Musiliu A.K. Smith, CFR, and children.

Gbajabiamila condoles former IG Musiliu

The Speaker, House of Representative, Femi Gbajabiamila condoled former Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Musiliu Smith, over the death of his wife, Alhaja Ariat Aderoju Smith.

In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Lanre Lasisi said, Alhaja Ariat, who passed away at the age of 69, was a selfless woman who gave her life to service for humanity and a great pillar of support to her husband, elder statesman, Alhaji Musiliu Smith.

He added that, the deceased would also be missed not only by members of her immediate family but by all Lagosians in general.

He prayed to Allah to grant her Jannatul Firdaus and give Alhaji Musiliu Smith as well as other members of his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
