Abdullahi Ahmad Wakili, popularly known as Wakilin Jama’a, 37, is the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for Kaduna North Senatorial District. He speaks in this interview about three major bills he would sponsor if given the mandate in 2023.
What is your major reason for joining politics?
My main reason for joining politics is to rescue the youths and people of Kaduna North Senatorial District and the state in general.
What are your chances and that of your party in the race?
Our chances are very bright because the present senator representing the zone has done nothing to the people. He lacks the capacity to tackle many issues bothering the zone and its people. The majority of the people in the zone are farmers and many of them cannot go to their farms as a result of insecurity.

What is he doing or what contribution is he giving in resolving this issue?
I have been touring around the local government areas within the zone in which so many of the people complained to me about his inability to visit their localities despite the challenges facing them. So, my visit to them alone shows that PRP is the party to beat.
How will you convince the electorate to vote for you?
If you look at the past, former military heads of state, General Yakubu Gowon, General Murtala Mohammed, to mention but a few, ruled this country at what age? This simple analysis shows the youths always perform better.
I can proudly remind the people of old Kaduna State (Kaduna and Katsina) of Late AbdulKadir Balarabe Musa of blessed memory administration. Most of the highways in the rural areas were constructed by the PRP government. Late Balarabe Musa built factories in almost all the zones in Kaduna State where most of the factories are being sold by this present administration of APC. PRP is the only alternative party for the people of this country in 2023.
Apart from rescuing the youth, what other plans do you have especially in the area of sponsoring bills?
My major concern now is the development of my people and this, I believe, can be done in 3 ways – that is to sponsor bills to tackle insecurity, another bill to boost agriculture and a bill to improve education in northern Nigeria.
The above three issues are always our major challenges in the North. If I can find solutions to these issues, it means I have done well.
