Congress of the All Progressives Congress in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State has been postponed till Sunday, following the crisis by the supporters of the two contenders for the Chairmanship position.
Delegates, who stormed the State Party Secretariat in Minna, the state capital, to register their grievances, told our correspondent that no fewer than three people, including an electoral official were injured at the Local Government Secretariat, the venue of the Congress.

One of the delegates who spoke anonymously accused the Local Government Chairman, Suleiman Danjuma Nalango, of imposing a candidate, Ibrahim Babangida, on them.
Another delegate, Yahaya Gambo told Daily Trust that, “Ibrahim Babangida from Barwa ward is the favourite candidate of the Local Government Chairman while Shehu Ciroma enjoyed full support of APC stakeholders and the youths in the local government.”
He said a group of youth suspected to the thugs stormed the Secretariat when election was about to commence and started throwing stones, disrupting the exercise.
Shortly, drama ensured as delegates who were locked outside of the State APC Secretariat booed the Local Government Chairman drove in a black tinted Jeep, calling “barawo, barawo, we are equal. We are waiting for you”.
It took the combined effort of officers of police and private security manning the Secretariat gate to calm the protesting supporters.
When contacted on phone, the State PRO of the party, Hassan Wakili, said he had travelled for the Congress.
Daily Trust gathered that a consensus was adopted by party supporters in Mokwa and Borgu, while meetings were still ongoing in Gbako and Agaie Local Governments.
Elections were were held in Bida, Lapai, Chanchaga and Bosso and other Local Governments, peacefully.
