Aggrieved air passengers at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, have staged a protest against Max Air for the unexpected delay of their Lagos-bound flight.

The flight, (VM1645) originally scheduled to depart at 1:00 pm, was postponed without prior notification, leaving passengers stranded for nearly five hours.

It was gathered that the lack of communication from the airline worsened the situation, leading to a tense atmosphere at the domestic wing.

Mr. Abubakar Muhammad who was among the affected passengers, said he ought to be in Lagos for medical screening.

“The delay has caused me a lot of pain,” he lamented, expressing the urgency of his trip.

While Mr. Yusif Sani, another passenger voiced his distress over the recurrent delays.

He said: “Last time they also delayed us like this, why would a flight be delayed or rescheduled without proper notice?”

Recall that, in July 2023 the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has stated that Air Peace delayed the highest number of domestic flights in the first quarter of 2023 , operating 6521 flights with 3,754 delayed (51 percent).

This is followed by Max Air which recorded 1,565 flights with 1,013 delayed (60 percent).
