The vice chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo (FUO) Professor Amidu Sanni has said that proper orientation would curb incidences of ritual killings.
The VC said this while speaking with journalists ahead of the eighth convocation of the institution scheduled for Monday.
He explained that misconception among some youth on the possibility of getting rich quick was the main cause of the ritual killings.
Professor Sanni said the university has introduced Islamic studies and other courses that would make direct impact on the society.
“We introduced Islamic studies to accommodate those that have learned Arabic and Islamic studies in the informal study centers. The aim to to give them proper orientation and guide them against such misconceptions that money ritual exists,” he said.
He said that 22 made first class out of the 319 graduating students and that 119 students bagged second class upper division while 165 made second class lower and 13 made third class.
