Promote peace, unity in Nigeria, Sultan urges students

The Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has called on students to always promote peace and unity in the country.

He made the call at the 76th National Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) organized by the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Zone A Headquarters, with participants from the 19 Northern states and Abuja.

“Nigeria is a country of different religious, tribes and culture, but as Muslims we must believe that the non-Muslims are our brothers in progress,” he stated.

The Sultan stressed the need for the Muslims to uphold the tenants of their religion, live peacefully with others and respect leaders to achieve success.

On politics, the royal father urged Muslims to have their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them vote candidates of their choice in the general elections.

Also speaking, Sokoto state Governor Aminu Tambuwal assured of Muslim organizations across the country of his support.

He lauded the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria for holding the programme in Sokoto state.
