A former Head of Department of Political Science and International Studies at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Professor A. D. Yahaya is dead.
He died on Saturday at a hospital in Abuja and had been buried according to Islamic rites.

The cause of his death is unknown.
Prof Yahaya is the former Director-General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON).
He was also Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the late Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi, the then governor of the old Kano State in the Second Republic.
The deceased was described as an extraordinary human being and an outstanding political scientist.
