A compendium of 60 eminent Nigerians, born in the year of Nigeria’s Independence, will be a worthy reference source for researchers, Dr Abubakar Sani, the chairman of the project, has said.
Sani told Daily Trust on Thursday that the project was aimed at rekindling acts of patriotism among Nigerians.

“Those behind the project cut across the ethnic and religious divide of Nigeria.
“We are looking at how Nigerians of all works of life will be doing their best in an honest bid to move the country forward.
“Our effort does not capture all Nigerians who were born in 1960.
“In this initial effort, we are looking at those who have made reasonable impact in their fields.
“Our initiative is to awaken Nigerians that wherever they find themselves, they should serve better because somebody somewhere is watching.
“We are producing a working compendium that will inspire the young ones.”
He said the ultimate aim of the initiative would be to a body of eminent citizens who would mentor young people in their chosen field of expressing themselves and making Nigeria better than they met it.
Chairman, Editorial Board of the project, Akanimo Sampson, said over 90 percent of the eminent citizens selected were unaware they were included in the Project 60@60 compendium.
“The document is an independent initiative, and the selection process is quite thorough.
“We are quite delighted that what we are working on is a document of a miniature Nigeria.”
