he President of the South-south Solidarity Forum, Dr Bassey Umoh, yesterday, said the alleged planned probe of former president Goodluck Jonathan could lead to chaos.
Umoh spoke at a stakeholders conference held in Calabar, saying that it was provocative to link the former president to activities of the militant group, Niger Delta Avengers.
The former president had himself dismissed reports linking him to the militant group.
Umoh said that the security probe that linked Jonathan’s with the militant group was unpatriotic, warning that if the authorities insisted on probing Jonathan the corporate existence of the country would be jeorpardised.
Umoh said that Jonathan did not deserve the numerous criticisms that had trailed his administration, adding: “This allegation linking the former president to the NDA militants is baseless and it is incongruous with the well acclaimed peaceful and highly patriotic disposition of Jonathan.
“The insinuation of the security probe is the contraption of those who want to fulfill the wicked plot to break up Nigeria.”
