Private sector stakeholders to launch N62.1bn HIV Trust Fund

A private sector-led coalition will launch N62.1bn ($150 million) HIV Trust Fund of Nigeria (HTFN) in Abuja tomorrow. 

A statement Sunday by HTFN said the fund was a sustainable financing mechanism for the mobilization and deployment of domestic private sector resources to address the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV in Nigeria.

Recommended by the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) and driven by the Nigeria Business Coalition Against AIDS, the Trust Fund is chaired by the Group Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, Dr Herbert Wigwe.

Members of its Board of Trustee include Mr. Mike Sangster, the Managing Director of TotalEnergies Exploration and Production Nigeria; Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Dangote Foundation and President of the Dangote Group; Engineer Osagie Okunbor, Managing Director, The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, and the Country Chair, Shell Companies in Nigeria.
