The Federal Government has said that $10.9billion out of the $22.5billion in private sector investment from about 164 projects identified by the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) Focus Labs are most ready for take-off.

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo stated this yesterday during the ERGP Focus Lab Open Day Ceremony in Abuja.

The Vice President also noted that the projects are focused to create more than half a million permanent jobs till the year 2020.

Osinbajo who reiterated government’s commitment in seeing the ERGP coming to fruition said he was optimistic given the overwhelming interest of the private sector.

He said government has recognized that lack of implementation has delayed the progress of many projects in the past, adding that FG will give top priority to the implementation and delivery of the ERGP.

“If we way we are committed to improving our business environment and serious about making our country more marketable, we cannot but take the outcomes of the labs seriously” he said.

Speaking earlier Minister of Budget and National planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma said the 164 projects identified by the labs are spread out across the six geo-political zones.
