The National Union of Printing, Publishing and Paper Products Workers (NUPPPROW) has commiserated with the management of Media Trust Limited, publisher of Daily Trust titles, over the death of a member of its Board of Directors, Alhaji Rabiu Garba, who died earlier this year.

NUPPPROW’s Acting General Secretary, Olatunji Joseph Fola, who led a delegation to the company’s corporate head office in Abuja Thursday, eulogised the Late Rabiu for his “unflinching hard work and belief in a better Nigeria.”

He said Late Rabiu played a significant role in the growth and development of Daily Trust newspapers into a “foremost authoritative newspaper in the whole of West Africa”.

“It is also amazing that the deceased had played tremendous role in alleviating the sufferings of orphans and less privileged in his immediate community which he did through the provision of scholarship and job opportunities for job seekers and essential commodities to needy families, etc”, he said.

The union appealed to the management of Media Trust to embrace NUPPPROW, saying its members are part of the company.

Responding, the Acting CEO of Media Trust, Mallam Nura Daura, appreciated the union for the condolence visit.

He assured the union of the company’s cooperation and support in areas needed.
