Prices of local rice drop in Taraba

Prices of locally processed rice have dropped in Taraba State, findings by Daily Trust have revealed.

A 100kg bag of paddy rice is now sold between N10,000 and N10,500 as against N14,000 and N15,000 it cost last week. Similarly, the prices of other local species dropped in the state. It was gathered that a 100kg bag of locally processed rice is now sold at N27,000 as against N37,000 it cost last week.

Findings by Daily Trust on Sunday revealed that middlemen are already moving in to buy both the processed and paddy rice in the state, forcing the prices to drop.
