The Presidential Petition Election Court (PREPEC) has adjourned the petition by the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to Wednesday, May 17, to enable parties to harmonise their processes.
The tribunal adjourned the petition, which was against INEC, Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, and APC, after an agreement by the lawyers to harmonise their processes.
All the parties in Obi’s petition, Number CA/PEPC/03/2023, agreed to review the processes and motions and decide on them.
At the resumed pre-hearing yesterday, the lead counsel of the LP, Levi Uzoukwu (SAN), requested the adjournment of the motions on their petition to Wednesday next week to enable all non-contentious processes filed to become ripe for hearing.
He said all parties in the petition had agreed that only non-controversial motions would be entertained by the tribunal.
Lawyers to INEC, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN); Tinubu and Shettima, Wole Olanipekun (SAN); APC, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), all confirmed that the agreement had been reached to harmonise documents to be allowed for the main hearing.
