Nigerians went to the polls on Saturday, February 23 to elect the president of the most populous black nation in the world.

There were more than 60 candidates on the ballots, challenging the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

These candidates sought the votes of the over 70 million Nigerians who have Permanent Voters Card during the exercise.

Below are the results of the ten top presidential candidates at the end of the exercise

Surprisingly “popular newcomer” candidates like Kingsley Moghalu,  Fela Durotoye  did not make the list. Only Omoleye Sowore among the “visible” candidates made it.

  9. Democratic Party (SDP), (34,746 votes) Donald Duke,
  10. African Action Congress (AAC)(33,953) Omoyele Sowore
