The Rivers State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Muhammed Haruna, has said the Command has deployed about 5,011 personnel for Saturday’s presidential election in Rivers state.
Haruna, who spoke to journalists in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, said that his men are fully prepared for the elections and are liaising with other sister security agencies to ensure a hitch-free presidential election.
He said the full and final deployment of its personnel will take place on Friday.
“We are fully prepared and we are liaising with other security agencies especially the Nigerian Police for the presidential election.
“We are deploying 5,011 personnel for this election and all of them have been duly briefed and by the special grace of God, they will all move to their various stations on Friday,” he said.
“Those on patrol have already started their job and we have deployed them to various local government areas of the State. We have also stationed our men in the riverine areas of the state to compliment our efforts,” he said.
He charged the officers of the Command deployed for the election not to engage in any act that will tarnish the image of the corps and remain apolitical in their discharge of duties.
