President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Presidential election in Nasarawa State for the first time.
Buhari won with a difference of 6, 056 votes ahead of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Muhammadu Buhari lost in Nasarawa in 2011, he scored 278,390 on the platform of ANPP while PDP scored 408,997.
In 2003, Buhari polled 244,005 and lost Nasarawa State to former President Olusegun Obasanjo of the PDP scored 470,936.
In 2007, PDP scored a total of 496,641 votes for President Umaru Yar’adua of blessed memory beat its Buhari of the defunct All Nigeria People Party(ANPP) with 219,531 votes.
In 2011, Buhari still lost Nasarawa State under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) with 278,390 votes while former President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP polled 408, 997.
In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan polled 273, 460 and again defeated Buhari of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) who scored 236,838.
