President Buhari commissions N1.4 bn project in Dutse University

President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned road and drainages put at the cost of N1.4 billion in the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State.

The president, who was represented by Minister of Interior, Abduraham Bello Danbazau, said during the commissioning ceremony in Dutse that the projects covered 4.5 kilometer internal campus road with drainages as well as over two kilometers of main drainage from outside the University which terminates at a pond near the University’s farm.

Buhari reiterated that no part of the country would suffer neglect as a result of its geographical location or political inclination.

He said the projects were part of the ecological fund intervention programme approved for the University, under the fund’s first quarter of 2018 intervention programme.

In her remark, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Fatima Batul-Muktar, said provision of infrastructure was critical to the development of tertiary institutions, saying “Federal University Dutse, has had problem of roads and drainages within its permanent site since establishment in 2011.”
