Presidency to name HYPPADEC board soon – Sen Umaru

The Senator representing Niger East senatorial district, David Umaru, has disclosed that the Hydro Power Producing Areas Commission (HYPPADEC) would take off soon.

Addressing constituents and supporters in solidarity visit following his victory at the Appeal Court, Umaru said the HYPPADEC board would soon be named preparatory to its take off.

Daily Trust recalls that HYPPADEC bill has since been passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.

Umaru said all the process leading to the take-off of the commission would soon be concluded.

“The presidency will soon announce the board members of HYPPADEC, so I can say that all was set for its take off”, he noted.

The Senator dedicated his victory at the Appeal Court to the people of the constituency, while promising to redouble efforts towards improving their living standards by initiating projects that have direct bearing on their lives.

He thanked them for their resolute and resilient support during the struggle at the courts.

Speaking earlier, political leaders from Niger East urged the lawmaker to remain focus in his service to the people.

A representative from Gurara local government area, Dantani Isah who spoke on their behalf, said the people have been consistent in their prayers for the Senator’s triumph at the courts.

“Senator David Umaru deserved a second term. We have given him second term and nobody can steal it from him, because it is our mandate and we are ready to defend it”, said.
