The Presidency says President Muhammadu Buhari will transmit a letter to the National Assembly Monday in order to make his return to work formal and constitutional.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said this on Friday in a 22-word statement he posted on his Twitter handle, @FemAdesina.

President Buhari Friday  morning arrived Nigeria from his medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

Dismissing media reports that Buhari had asked Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to continue as acting president, Adesina said the president would on Monday transmit a letter to the National Assembly to inform the legislators of his return to Nigeria.

The presidential spokesman said that would make President Buhari’s return to work formal and constitutional.

"PMB will Monday transmit letter to N’Assembly on his return to the country. That makes his return to work formal and constitutional," the presidential spokesman said.
