4th National MSMEs Award goes live, physical

The Federal Government through the Office of the Vice President is set to empower, support and reward Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country with cash prizes and cars.
The Senior Assistant on MSMEs in the Presidency Mr Tola Adekunle Johnson, made this known in a press conference held to unveil plans for weeklong activities to mark the MSMEs day and the 2021 MSMEs award ceremony.
“The 2021 edition of the MSMEs awards is unique for three reasons. First, there will be return to the physical event. Secondly, there is an increase in the number of cars to be won by outstanding MSMEs and thirdly, the day of the awards ceremony coincides with the 2021 United Nations World MSMEs Day on the 27th June,” Johnson said.
He noted that the awards target certain sectors that are key to driving the economy such as agriculture, beauty, wellness and cosmetics, creative arts, fashion and style, leatherworks, furniture and woodworks, manufacturing and tech and innovation-driven enterprises.
“MSMEs interested in the 2021 awards can visit www.msmeclinics.gov.ng. as the portal opens on 10th May,” Johnson said.
He noted that the MSMEs awards which was birthed in 2018 is aimed at rewarding hardwork, excellence and innovations in the MSMEs space hence Small Business owners are encouraged to apply accross the country.
Prior to the MSMEs award ceremony, an MSMEs clinic will be held on the 22nd June and a National discourse on the plights of MSMEs will be held on the 23rd June.
Similarly, a fashion and art exhibition to showcase Nigerian brands will be held on the 25th June and the climax of the event will be MSMEs awards ceremony on the 27th June which coincides with the United Nations’ World MSMEs Day.
