Premium Pension appoints Babayo new Chairman

The Board of Premium Pension Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Babayo as the new Chairman, Board of Directors which took effect from April 26.

Babayo’s appointment came after the retirement of Arc. Yunusa Yakub who has been the Chairman, since 2017.

Babayo graduated from Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna State with a National Diploma in 1987 and Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State with a Higher National Diploma in 1993 both in Estate Management.

He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) and International Facility Management Association (IFMA).

He is the founder of Cosmopolitan Cleaners which is an environmental management and sustainable company.

As part of his achievements, he is a member of the board of Golden Construction Limited, RDS insurance Brokers Limited and Nonsuch Health Maintenance Organisation, AMML Microfinance Bank and TAJ Bank foundation.

Babayo is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Wharton Executive Education, University of Pennsylvania, London Business School and National University of Singapore.

He has attended programmes in General management, Essentials of Leadership and Corporate Governance: Effectiveness and Accountability in the boardroom amongst others.

He served as a member of the board of Premium Pension where he chaired the Board Information Technology Steering Committee which laid the foundation for effective ICT transformation in the company.

He also chaired the Board finance and general purpose committee that had oversight over the development of the company’s strategic plan, responsible for periodic review and monitoring the implementation of the plan.

He has also served in various committees before his appointment as the Chairman.

Babayo attended several courses in facilities and project management in Nigeria and beyond, including courses in Cost Minimisation in Construction at the University of Lagos in 1992 and in Service Excellence (facilitated by Arthur Andersen) in 1993.
