Pregnant women tasked on nutrition

Pregnant women in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been urged to eat a balanced diet and keep a healthy environment.

FCT State Nutrition Coordinator, Mrs Clementina Okoro, who gave the charge during the 2021 National Nutrition Week celebrations and the 2021 Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week in Abuja, said there was the need for pregnant and breastfeeding women to eat food variety and vegetables in order to have a balanced diet that is needed for healthy growth of children 6-59 months.

The Nutrition Society of Nigeria, in collaboration with the FCT Primary Health Care Board, flagged off the event, scheduled for Dec 6-9, at the IDP camp, Wassa village, near Apo, FCT.
