Financial crisis is real. Nearly everyone has experienced it at some point in their lives. Lack makes people grumble, groan and despair. It makes people angry and bitter. It makes people steal, lie and cheat. It makes people do things they’ll not normally do.
There are many things you can do when you are in a financial crisis: you can either accept it and cry or reject it and fight for your breakthrough. Let me show you how to fight for your inheritance.

The Origin Of Poverty
The origin of poverty is the curse Satan introduced by making Adam and his wife to sin through unbelief. They doubted God and disobeyed Him. God began to reverse the curse in the life of Abraham. God promised to bless Abraham and He did and Abraham became very rich because he believed God. What unbelief and disobedience took away, faith and obedience restored!
Jesus came to fulfill this promise to the seed of Abraham. Galatians 3:13-14, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: [14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” It you don’t believe in the person and principles of Christ, you will continue to wallow in poverty!
Jesus talked about coming to give us abundant life. John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Look at the contrast, everything the devil does- stealing, killing and destroying, renders people poor. Satan makes people poor, Jesus makes people rich.
Unfortunately, most people are not aware that Satan is behind poverty. They don’t fight it. Poverty is a strong man, a spirit. Proverbs 6:11 describes poverty as an armed man. The New Living Translation (NLT) says, “…and poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.”
It can enslave an individual, a family, community, business, church, or nation. It does not work alone, it works in collaboration with other demons to make life hell for people.
Spiritual warfare and deliverance are necessary to free yourself and possess your possessions. Obadiah 1:17 says, “But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”
There are two reasons we pray concerning supply.
1. To receive our supply from our dear Father in heaven. God is our Provider so we need to go to him in prayer for our provision. Jesus taught the disciples to ask God in prayer for their daily bread or supply– Matthew 6:11. It is also clear in scripture that supplication can bring supply. But this is just daily bread, like manna. The Bible says you have not because you ask not- James 4:2b. You have to pray if you have to have! Prayer gives you daily bread. But there is a higher dimension called wealth. I will show you how you can launch yourself into this realm.
2. Secondly, there are forces that are intent on keeping you poor. These forces shut doors of opportunity, divert blessings, delay answers to prayer, lock up fortunes and steal from people. They cause job losses and business failure. There are spiritual palmerworms, locusts, cankerworms and caterpillars the enemy sends to waste people’s harvests and fortunes- Joel 1:4. They must be burnt with the fire of the Holy Ghost through corrosive and aggressive prayer if you are to enjoy financial comfort.
Witches specialize in tying people’s hands and locking them up in financial prison. They must be dislodged through violent prayer!
5 Ways To Defeat Forces Of Poverty
Let me show you how to defeat forces of poverty and launch yourself into real wealth:
1. Knowledge. An empty mind produces an empty life. Reading and learning make you innovative, creative, productive and impactful. And your impact makes you relevant and creates your reward. Until you improve your money mindset, you cannot change your financial fortunes.
2. Your Obedience Must First Be In Place. 2Corinthians 10:6, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” For your prayer to be effective against forces of poverty, you must ensure that you are practicing the covenant principles for wealth creation. God will not rebuke the devourer for your sake if you are not a tither. Your prayer for supply will only work if you have sown financial seeds. It is your seed that bruises the head of the serpent. Genesis 3:15. Another area of obedience is soul winning. Deuteronomy 8:18, “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” This was a covenant to multiply Abraham’s seed like the stars of heaven. Giving and working for the expansion of the Kingdom of God commits God to partnering with you to create unbelievable wealth.
3. Work. Ephesians 4:28 says, “Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have…” If you don’t work, you won’t have. As we said earlier, your impact is what creates your reward. I hear a lot of inspirational preaching these days but inspiration without perspiration leads to frustration!
4. Warfare and deliverance. Obadiah 1:17. A brother lost his job in January of a particular year. In April we had a programme ‘OPEN MY GATES’ during which we engaged in very intense spiritual warfare with targeted prayers for restoration. The same person who sacked him recalled him immediately after the programme. The gate of his supply which was shut was reopened through aggressive spiritual warfare.
5. A lifestyle of Praise. Psalm 67:5-7. The earth is programmed to yield its resources to those who make praise their lifestyle.
