The Baba Adinni of Yewaland in Ogun State, Hon. Abiodun Akinlade, has enjoined Nigerians, particularly Muslims in Ogun State, to pray for the country and the state during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

He disclosed this via a statement issued on Wednesday to commemorate the 2018 Ramadan season.

Akinlade, who is a leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, said the Holy month should be seen as an opportunity to learn self-restraint, love, piety, and sacrifice.

The former three-term member of the House of Representatives for Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, stressed that Muslims in the state should continue to pray for the progress and unity of the Gateway State and the governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, just as he enjoined all and sundry to continue their support for the current administration in the state.

He further urged Muslims to make the best use of the holy month to build stronger ties with Almighty Allah, adding that “the responsibilities of being a Muslim include that we must love our state and always work to promote its success.”

While thanking Allah for keeping Muslim faithful to witness another Ramadan, he called on the wealthy class in the society to extend charities to the less privileged during the holy month.

“The 2018 Ramadan period is one that we must see as an opportunity to pray for our country, President Muhammadu Buhari, our state and our amiable governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who is the architect of a new Ogun State that we are all enjoying and proud of.”
